Computer Based Testing
Please be aware the Operator Certification Program (OCP) will
be experiencing a temporary break in computer based testing
services. The contract that permits us to offer computer based
testing through Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP) expires
August 28, 2014. We are currently in the process of
procuring a computer based testing vendor in order that we may
continue to offer you the same level of testing services. We
will make an announcement on this website when a new computer
based vendor has been selected.
Change of Address:
During the last
renewal cycle many
operators did not
receive their renewal
notice due to incorrect
addresses. Please verify
your mailing address and
update it as needed. It
is the responsibility of
each individual operator
to notify our office of
your current mailing
change of address cannot
be done over the phone,
and requires you to fill
and then fax or mail it
to the address provided
on the form.
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Operator
Certification Program, only accepts General Educational
Development (GEDís) issued by the
American Council on Education
through an approved GED Administrator. In Florida, the
approved GED Administrator is the
Florida Department of Education through its network of public schools and adult
education centers. (Please Note:
Depending on your location some testing centers

- If you have not completed your required amount of continuing
education, you should begin making arrangements now! Please do
not wait until the last minute when all classes are full and
unavailable. You may
search the status of your CEUís.
- CEU Splitting -
Please note that the splitting of CEUís is no longer allowed.
An example of this would be a management course worth 4.0 CEUís.
These CEUís cannot be split into 2.0 for water a nd 2.0 for
wastewater if you are dually licensed. If you have any questions
regarding this, please call the Certification and Restoration Program
Florida Statutes require anyone who operates a drinking water
treatment plant or a domestic wastewater treatment plant to
be licensed by FDEP. Beginning May 1, 2011, licensure for Water
Distribution System Operators becomes mandatory. To qualify for licensure an applicant must meet
minimum educational and work experience requirements for each class of
license. A passing score is required on the exam for the type and level
