Final Verified Lists of Impaired Waters and
Delist Lists for Cycle 2 Group 2 Basins

As part of the agency action adopting the lists of impaired waters
for the Group 1 Basins, the
Department also revised the verified lists
of impaired waters and delist lists by Secretarial Order for the
following Group 2 basin: Tampa Bay Tributaries, which were originally
adopted on May, 19 2009. The Group 2 lists were revised to make
necessary changes in response to additional information provided to and
evaluated by the Department. Requests for an administrative
hearing to challenge a listing decision must be received no later than
March 13, 2013.

for the Group 5 Basins, the Department
also revised the verified lists of impaired waters and delist lists by
Secretarial order for the following Group 2 basins:
Apalachicola-Chipola, Tampa Bay Tributaries, Charlotte Harbor, Lower St.
Johns River, and Middle St. Johns River, which were originally adopted
on May, 19 2009. The Group 2 lists were revised to make necessary
changes in response to EPA’s review.

As part of the agency action adopting the lists of impaired waters
for the Group 3 Basins, the
Department also revised the verified lists of impaired waters and delist
lists by Secretarial order for the following Group 2 basins: Apalachicola-Chipola, Tampa
Bay Tributaries, Charlotte Harbor, Lower St. Johns River, and Middle St.
Johns River, which were originally adopted on May, 19 2009. The Group 2
lists were revised to make necessary changes in response to EPA’s
review.

The Department announces the availability of the final lists of
impaired waters for the Group 2 Basins: Apalachicola-Chipola, Middle St.
Johns, Lower St. Johns, Tampa Bay Tributaries, St. Lucie–Loxahatchee,
and Charlotte Harbor. These lists were adopted by a
Secretarial Order on May 19th, 2009. Exhibit 1 of the
order consists of the verified and delist lists with the Office of
General Counsel case numbers for the listings. These can be found in the
lists provided below. Requests for an administrative hearing must be
received no later than June 19, 2009.
The FINAL lists below are another step in the process of restoring
impaired waters for these basins. Now that these waters have been
adopted by Secretarial Order, the Department staff will begin developing
TMDLs for waters on the verified list. A TMDL represents the maximum
amount of pollutant loading that can be discharged to a water body and
have its designated uses be met. The final step in this process will be
the development, by watershed stakeholders and DEP, of a Basin
Management Action Plan (BMAP). The BMAP will specify the activities,
schedule, and funding sources that point and nonpoint source dischargers
will undertake to restore the water body.
