Technical Support Program

 

Program Description

The technical support section is responsible for providing engineering and hydrologic reviews and evaluations of permit applications submitted to the Bureau and the Department for mined land reclamation and the management and storage of surface water, as mandated under Chapters 373 and 378, Florida Statute.

Program Activities

Engineering and hydrologic reviews and evaluations of Environmental Resource Permits, reclamation plans, and Wetland Resource Permits

Site inspections to evaluate site-specific hydrologic and engineering requirements and compliance with approved permits and reclamation plans

Geotechnical evaluations of reclamation plans

Information gathering, training activities, and reporting for the State Dam Safety Program

Special projects, including restoration and project management, planning, and related technical evaluations.
