Recycling legislation, no chance
As a resident of Florida, the United States and the World, I am appalled at the lack of interest in recycling. Here in Florida it is as if recycling is the lest important issue that faces our communities and our state. The DEP has recommended legislation which needs to be modified, e.g., allowing burning solid waste for energy must be removed from the proposal. However the problem is that any proposal must be approved by the legislature, and there in lies the rub. Based on past performance the chance of the Florida Legislature passing meaningful, progressive, functional recycling legislation is just about zero. End of story.
