Amendments to Chapter 62-709, F.A.C., Criteria for the Production and Use of Compost Made from Solid Waste
The Department is addressing lesser requirements for facilities composting only yard trash, food
waste and manures. A Compost Rule Technical Advisory Group has been formed to assist in the process
of developing draft rule language.
Revised Chapter 62-709, F.A.C.
The proposed changes to Chapter 62-709, F.A.C., which were adopted at the December 11th
meeting of the ERC, are effective as of February 15, 2010. Please follow the link (i.e., Revised

Notice of Change - 62-709
This is the notice filed with the Florida Administrative Weekly to be published Friday, December
11th. The ERC adopted the proposed changes to Chapter 62-709, F.A.C., with some
amendments. The Notice of Change addresses the changes approved by the ERC. Note that there
remain some procedures we must follow before these changes can come into effect.
