The Solid Waste Section is responsible for rule development, solid waste policy, financial assurance compliance, and implementing Florida’s
solid waste management program. Technical assistance is provided to the district offices concerning the permitting, compliance, and enforcement
activities associated with solid waste facilities. These facilities can include landfills, material recovery facilities, transfer stations,
composting/processing facilities, and waste tire management sites. Permitting, compliance, and enforcement issues associated with these sites are managed by the
DEP District Offices.

will be moved from DEP’s District offices to the Solid Waste Section in Tallahassee. Click

Search for a Solid Waste Facility
This link will help you locate information on specific solid waste facilities. To search for an individual
facility, go to the top portion of the page, enter in the WACS ID or facility name, and click “Facility Search”.
To search for specific class types of facilities by District or County, go to the bottom portion of the page,
choose the desired option for each of the 4 steps and Column Options, and click “Submit”.

This link provides facility lists based on type and current status.
- Solid Waste Facility Locator
This links to Map Direct, where you can locate a facility on a map. Just select “Find Places”, and you can search for a facility using the city, county, or zip code, and many other options.
