ADaPT-Bureau of Solid and Hazardous Waste
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Bureau of Solid and Hazardous Waste (BSHW) programs require
the submittal of ADaPT Electronic Data Deliverables (EDD) for all groundwater monitoring data. The following links to
software, guidance documents, table updates, and related information will be helpful in implementing ADaPT.
The
ADaPT Software
requires Microsoft Office Access version 2003, 2007, or 2010. The latest version of ADaPT (last updated 09/05/2012) is
freely available for download
here.
Our
ADaPT Installation Instructions
detail the initial installation and update of ADaPT, or you can refer to the “How to update ADaPT” section in either
the ADaPT User Guide or the
ADaPT FAQ
for alternative procedures and details. For a complete list of modifications and enhancements to each version of ADaPT,
refer to our
ADaPT-Version History
document.

The
ADaPT User Guide
contains information on how to install ADaPT, import data, check the data for completeness (and error check),
evaluate data QC, evaluate the data against various standards and criteria and prepare the data for export to
upload to the WACS (Water Assurance and Compliance Systems) database. The ADaPT Users Guide also includes
reference information along with responsibilities and uses of ADaPT by labs, consultants, permittees, and DEP
staff.
Division of Waste Management Master Library
(last updated 04/02/2013) The library contains DWM appropriate analytical methods for matrices and analytes, method required
QC elements, and method specific QC element control limits. Please review our
DWM Library Additions document
for details on the procedure for adding appropriate methods and analytes to the library. Refer to the
DWM Library History
for a complete list of library modifications and additions.
Division of Waste Management Valid Values
(last updated 04/02/2013) Valid values are used to validate data and identify methods, matrices, unique Client Analyte IDs, analyte names
and QC elements specified in the DWM library, and also contains all DWM Project Numbers (site/facility IDs) and Project Names (site/facility
names), and all Florida Department of Health NELAC certified laboratories and sample preparation methods. To update the valid values, right

The ADaPT Field EDD Utility
is provided as a tool to help create corresponding ADaPT Field EDDs for ADaPT Lab EDDs submitted to the SW, HW, and UIC programs
when importing into the WACS Oracle database. This tool can help you create new Field EDDs, retrieve required
information from imported Lab EDDs, or modify existing Field EDDs. After the Field EDD is created, you can
perform a data integrity check and export the properly named Field EDD. Context sensitive help screens are available
to guide the user through the process.
The
Field EDD Worksheet.xls
is provided as a tool that can be used for manually creating field EDDs and contains drop down menus and mouse-over messages helpful in populating each data field. Please refer to the
instructions
on how to produce a field EDD using this spreadsheet.
