During its 2002 session, the Legislature reinstated the Innovative Grants program, beginning with FY 2003-04. Details are in
House Bill 851, page 27.

Update Memo from Ron Henricks providing explanation of statutory
changes, grants criteria, and FY 2003-04 grants timeline. |

Request for Proposals. |
| October 15 |
Full Proposals due at DEP no later than 5 p.m. DEP Received 26
proposals. One was disqualified for not having the required format. One
was disqualified for containing no innovative components. |
| December 4 |
DEP Review Committee's
final ranking of
applications. |
| 2003 |
| May 24 |
Legislature allocated $750,000 for
Innovative Grants, which is enough to fund the top four applications
(Manatee County, City of Crestview, Palm Beach County, and Leon
County). |
