Pledge Cards
The National America Recycles Day 2009 event was a success. America Recycles
Day focuses on the importance of recycling and buying products made with
recycled content. By completing a
Pledge card,
Floridians committed to being better stewards of the environment. All pledge
cards received were entered into a drawing to receive either a $100.00
gift card, courtesy of
Recycle Florida Today
or one of three $50.00 gift cards donated by
Publix Super Markets.
This year over 25,000 pledge cards were received from all over the State of Florida.
Florida Students
Recycle Florida Today, Creative Recycling Systems, Inc., Publix Super Markets
and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (see below) announced
the SIXTH annual
Florida (K-12) Schools Recycling Pledge Card Contest.
This contest was designed to reward the three schools that collected the greatest
number of recycling
pledge cards.
The three winning schools received a refurbished computer, courtesy of

In addition, all pledge cards received from schools were entered into the
drawing for the gift cards donated by Recycle Florida Today (1 @
