Media Relations

When TV, radio, web or print media reporters have questions, the SED's Public Information Team is available to answer them.  Acting as liaisons between reporters and SED staff, the Public Information Team also informs the media of the latest environmental news happening in the District and schedules interviews between the media and SED staff if necessary. The public can subscribe to receive press releases or can visit the DEP Online News Room at any time for up to date DEP information.

If you are a member of the media and would like to view public records, please submit your request via our webform, by e-mail or fax at (561) 681-6755.

Outreach and Education

Through environmental education and outreach, the SED seeks to increase public awareness, understanding and an appreciation of Florida's environment.  If you are looking for a speaker on environmental topics, would like the FDEP Southeast District to have a booth at your event, or need brochures and publications for environmental education, please contact the SED or at (561) 681-6600.

Clean Boating/Marina Program

The Clean Boating Partnership, a public/private effort, is a liaison between the State of Florida and the marine industry. With thousands of marine facilities and 1,000,000 registered vessels in Florida, environmental education within the boating community is crucial to safeguarding the state's natural resources. The Partnership has developed four specific programs to encourage environmentally-friendly practices, beyond regulatory requirements, in and around Florida's waterways. For more information, please visit the FDEP Clean Marina website.
