The responsibility of the Emergency Response Program is
to respond to any incident or situation that represents an imminent
hazard or threat of a hazard to public health, welfare and safety, or
the environment.
Regional state on-scene coordinators investigate
incidents of illegal dumping or discharging and criminal activities,
supervise any subsequent cleanups by responsible parties and contractors
hired by the State of Florida. They provide incident assessment,
hazard identification and recommend immediate actions to be taken to
contain the spill.
