Assistant District Director

Kevin Claridge is the Assistant Director of the Southeast District of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. He has worked for the Department in permitting, compliance and enforcement in Central Florida and Tallahassee before assuming his present South Florida position in early 2008.

During his tenure with DEP, he has also undertaken responsibilities ranging from contract management and watershed reclamation projects to managing and monitoring state lands and conservation easements. He is an advocate for scientific research, previously serving on the Board of Directors of the Florida Institute of Phosphate Research, assisting with wetland impact and creation studies, and publishing on the spread of invasive exotic species.

As Assistant Director for the DEP Southeast District Office, Kevin oversees the District's Administration and Technical Services Section, and assists the District Director with the Environmental Resources, Waste, Water Facilities, and Air Regulatory Programs. He has a Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from the University of South Florida, a Masters Degree from the University of Memphis, and a Bachelors Degree from the University of North Carolina. He is a native Floridian, enjoys hiking Florida’s State Parks, trails and natural areas, snorkeling and scuba diving, and playing the banjo.
