District Director

Jennifer Smith is the Director of the Southeast District of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. Jennifer came to the  Director's position after serving as Assistant Director and as Program Administrator for the Submerged Lands & Environmental Resources Program in the Southeast District.   She began her career at the Southeast District in the Storage Tanks program in 2002 and moved to the Environmental Resources Program in 2003. Jennifer earned a Bachelor Degree in Biology from Ohio University, in Athens, Ohio, and moved to South Florida to attend Nova Southeastern University's Oceanographic Center in Dania Beach for the Master Degree program in Coastal Zone Management. Assistant Director

Jason Andreotta is the Assistant Director of the Southeast District of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.   As Assistant Director, Jason oversees the Compliance Assurance Program, which includes compliance and enforcement activities for the air, waste, and water programs.  He leads 38 professional and technical staff and was instrumental in executing the Southeast District’s business plan which includes innovative strategies to increase environmental compliance of the regulated community. Jason started with the Department in 2003 and previously served as Program Administrator for the Environmental Resource Permitting Program. Jason was born and raised in New Jersey and has a Bachelor Degree in Earth & Environmental Science from Lehigh University. Permitting Program Administrator

Diane Pupa is the Permitting Program Administrator of the Southeast District of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). Diane oversees 29 professional permit staff who administer permits and permit renewals for numerous program areas including air, wastewater, drinking water, and more. She was formerly the Environmental Administrator overseeing compliance and enforcement initiatives of the Air and Domestic Wastewater Programs.  Prior to coming to South Florida two years ago, Diane worked at the New Jersey DEP for over 26 years where she served in a variety of leadership roles within the Water Resources, Site Remediation, and Drinking Water Programs. Diane has been responsible for rule writing, creation of guidance documents, chaired various technical committees, and was the NJDEP’s liaison for the NJ Drinking Water Quality Institute. Diane has also been a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager for more than a decade. Diane has a Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Rider University, in Lawrenceville, NJ, and a Master’s degree in Geology from Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, PA. Business Planning Program Administrator

Jennifer Davis is the Program Administrator for the Business Planning section of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Southeast District office. Jennifer received her Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University and is currently pursuing a Master Degree from the same university. Over the past two decades, she has worked for both state and local governments in various managerial roles. Here at the Southeast District, Jennifer administers all facility, fleet, budget, administrative, communications and technical operations.
