conserve and manage Florida's environment and valuable natural resources. The
DEP's South District focuses on issues facing this region and state,
ranging from mangroves to hazardous waste.
The South District always welcomes public input.
The District is responsible for the following county areas: Charlotte,
Collier, Desoto, Highlands, Hendry, Glades, Lee, Monroe and
has a very broad public records law. Most written
communications to or from state officials regarding state
business are public records available to the public and media
