Russell Budell

Office: 850-245-2113
Cell: 850-567-8477

Topic Areas: Environmental Education, Sustainable Initiatives

Russell joined the department’s communications office in August 2012 on a long shot that made one from half-court look like a layup. After spending two years in the South District office inputting wastewater inspection reports and learning how to conduct wastewater plant inspections, Russell’s dormant writing talent was discovered and he was afforded an opportunity in Tallahassee to shape the department’s message. Prior to joining the department, Russell lived in Madison, Wisconsin, and did a brief stint in telesales where he gained traits such as an incredible tolerance for verbal abuse, a mastery of the spoken word and an overwhelming respect for the ubiquitous administrative assistant. Despite being a Tallahassee native, Russell earned his Creative Writing degree at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he met his lovely wife and learned the actual definition of the word “cold” as it applies to weather.
