TALLAHASSEE – In recognition of America Recycles Day on November 15, the
Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is hosting several events
that coincide with the theme for America Recycles Day 2010 — “I Recycle.” This
year’s theme encourages citizens to recycle more at home, at work and on the go.
“DEP is proud to demonstrate the importance of recycling and buying products
made with recycled content by participating in the 13th annual America Recycles
Day,” said DEP Secretary Mimi A. Drew. “As stewards of the environment, we must
do all we can at work, school and home to protect our precious natural resources
now and for future generations to come.”
In celebration of America Recycles Day, DEP encourages all Floridians to
learn about Easy As One – Ordinary actions. Extraordinary results. DEP’s Easy As
One initiative promotes easy ways to recycle, reduce waste and protect the
environment. One of the easiest steps is recycling retail plastic bags and using
reusable shopping bags instead. To find a plastic bag recycling location, go to
www.abagslife.com. To learn more, visit the Easy As One blog,
