Dam (n) ? a natural or man-made barrier across a river or stream that holds and controls the natural flow of water.

Decompose (v) ? to separate into parts; to rot or decay.

Decomposition (n) ? decay of plant or animal matter.

Desalinize (v) ? to remove salt and other minerals, usually from sea water.

Desalination (n) ? the process of removing salt and other minerals, usually from sea water.

Desert (n) ? an area of land, often sandy, that has no rainfall, extreme temperatures and sparse vegetation.

Dolphin (n) ? Any of various marine mammals related to the whales but generally smaller and having a beak like snout.

Drought (n) ? a prolonged period of abnormally dry weather, with little or no rain, that results in a shortage of water which is severe enough to impact people, crops or the environment.
