Dam (n) a natural or man-made barrier across a river or stream that holds and controls the natural flow of water.

Decompose (v) to separate into parts; to rot or decay.

Decomposition (n) decay of plant or animal matter.

Desalinize (v) to remove salt and other minerals, usually from sea water.

Desalination (n) the process of removing salt and other minerals, usually from sea water.

Desert (n) an area of land, often sandy, that has no rainfall, extreme temperatures and sparse vegetation.

Dolphin (n) Any of various marine mammals related to the whales but generally smaller and having a beak like snout.

Drought (n) a prolonged period of abnormally dry weather, with little or no rain, that results in a shortage of water which is severe enough to impact people, crops or the environment.
