Madison Blue Springs State Park, Ladell Brothers Outdoor Environmental
Center (North Florida Community College) and St. Marks National Wildlife
Refuge
The LIFE Madison County Program, started in 2008, is a partnership
between the Department of Environmental Protection and
Madison County
Central School. Approximately 140 sixth grade students will participate in
field labs that relate to groundwater, springs, water quality, surface water
? groundwater interactions, karst topography and hydrogeology at the
Ladell
Brothers Nature Center at North Florida Community College,
Madison Blue
Springs State Park and St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. Funding for this
program comes from the
Florida DEP Groundwater Program. The field
experiences will utilize ?real-world? scientific measuring devices and
techniques in conjunction with the state of the art facilities at Madison
County Central School obtained through their
Enhancing Education Through
Technology (EETT) grant to enhance instruction in science concepts and
across the curriculum.
