of Technology and Information Services
Office of Technology and Information Services (OTIS) strives
to provide the most secure, reliable,
responsive, and cost effective delivery of technology services possible
in support of the Department’s initiatives and the
operational functions of the agency. OTIS is responsible for overseeing
the Department’s use of existing and emerging technologies in government
operations, and its delivery of services to local government and the
public. OTIS works to improve the Department’s efficiency through
technology by aligning business and technology objectives to deliver
effective solutions. Additionally, OTIS implements agency information
technology planning and management procedures, guidelines, and standards
that are consistent with the procedures and standards adopted by the
Agency for State Technology.
Enterprise Application Services
Enterprise Application Services uses best
practices in application development to work with customers
throughout the agency to design and develop technology
solutions. The program area is also responsible for the agency's
Geographic Information Systems and Document Management
infrastructure as well as enterprise software solutions.
Business Management Services
Business Management Services is responsible for managing the
agency's information technology budget (IT) and delivers IT
contract development and management services to DEP programs.
The section also provides personnel and administrative
management support to OTIS. This includes, but is not limited
to, communications, human resources, inventory, procurement, and
public records requests.
Services is responsible for the Statewide Service Desk which
includes a call center, support for computer hardware, standard
software applications and computer peripherals. Computer
Support Services manages the development, support and
maintenance of the IT Service Management Support Software
(Cherwell), SharePoint, and the DEP Intranet and Internet
Content Management Sites. This program area is also responsible
for asset management.
Portfolio Management Services is
responsible for managing and maintaining the agency's
application and IT project portfolios. This includes providing
project management oversight, managing technical standards and
policies development, maintaining a significant portion of the
agency's business applications, and providing strategic
information technology planning support.
and Infrastructure Services
and Infrastructure Services (SIS) provides the Department with a
secure and functional computer network infrastructure. SIS
provides administration and management of network resources
including the Department's wide area network (WAN), voice
communications, messaging services, server infrastructure,
remote access, mobile devices and video-conferencing. SIS
coordinates and administers the Department's security policies,
procedures, and standards including security awareness training
and security compliance assessment.
