50 for 50 Campaign

During the winter of 2002, due to state budget shortfalls, the Florida Department of State was no longer able to produce the Annual Florida Folk Festival. There was an outpouring of public support and commitment that encouraged the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Florida Park Service to become the producer of this premier heritage event. We would like to acknowledge and thank the following for their support and encouragement.

Under the leadership of Howard Pardue, a 50 for 50 fundraising campaign was established to raise funds for continuation of the Florida Folk Festival. The following individuals and organizations were instrumental in publicizing the fundraising campaign:

Pete Gallagher
Gloria Holloway

Haven Cook and Tallahassee Friends of Old Time Dance
Ada Forney and the Florida Storytelling Association
Kristin Congdon
