Northeast District Programs

Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Environmental permits serve a valuable role in minimizing potential environmental disruption as a result of common human activities. The FDEP works closely with all parties in implementing its regulatory programs. Public review and comment is a vital part of the permitting process.

In recognition of the publicís interest and right to be involved in the regulatory activities of the agency, FDEP management have elected to use the Internet to provide data on permit status. Having current permitting information on line will allow anyone with access to the Internet to get updates on permit status quickly and efficiently, and will decrease the amount of agency staff time needed to respond to phone or mail queries. Use of this method of providing public information should greatly increase channels of communication, while making the agency more accountable to the public it serves.
