Included in Sustainable Initiatives are the Clean Marina Program, the Clean Vessel Act Grant Program and the Florida Green Lodging Program. Recognition of successful commitment to the environment is offered through the Florida Green Lodging Program and the Clean Marina Program. The goal of the Sustainable Initiatives programs is to meet the needs of the present population without compromising the ability of future populations to meet its needs.

Green Lodging Certification
The Florida Green Lodging Designation is a voluntary initiative of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) that designates and recognizes lodging facilities that make a commitment to conserve and protect Florida’s natural resources. The program’s environmental guidelines allow the hospitality industry to evaluate its operations, set goals and take specific actions to continuously improve environmental performance. Clean Marina
The Clean Marina Program brings awareness to marine facilities and boaters regarding laws and rules in Florida's waterways. Marinas and boatyards receive Clean Marina Designation by demonstrating continued commitment and protecting the water and marine life. Water Efficient Homes	Yards
Florida Water Star also offers information about making your home more water efficient by encouraging water efficiency in household appliances, plumbing fixtures, irrigation systems and landscapes.	Basic information on Florida-friendly landscaping, including environmental benefits and guiding principles, and a database of native Florida plants can be found at the Florida-Friendly Landscaping website at www.FloridaYards.org.
Green Built Homes
Green Built Homes of Florida, a program offered by JEA and Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA), promotes the use of energy and water efficient building practices in new, single-family homes constructed in Northeast Florida.
