Governor Signs Executive Order for Tropical Storm Fay
--Residents in South Florida urged to prepare for possible hurricane impact this weekend--
TALLAHASSEE - Florida Governor Charlie Crist signed Executive Order 08-170 today, freeing
up the State’s resources to respond to Tropical Storm Fay. The State Emergency Response Team (SERT)
has activated to a level 2 in response to Tropical Storm Fay, which, as of 11 a.m. Saturday, was
located off the western coast of Haiti.
Officials at the Emergency Operations Center in Tallahassee are currently monitoring the storm and
preparing to assist counties with potential protective actions and evacuations, if necessary.
