Hurricane Katrina Host Shelter Information

  • Host Shelter Available for Travelers
    • The Pensacola Civic Center will be available for those people who need a place to stay and an opportunity to take a break from driving and tropical storm force conditions. Please be advised that the I-10 bridge will close when winds reach 45 mph sustained.
    • Take Interstate 10 to Exit 12 (I-110 Southbound). Follow traffic and signs South to Pensacola Civic Center (201 E. Gregory). There will be signs and people to direct you to the Civic Center.
  • Alternate Evacuation Route
    • An alternate route to avoid the Interstate 10 bridge going Eastbound across the Escambia Bay, travelers may take exit 10A – North to Highway 29. Follow the signs to North Interstate 65 in Alabama.
