Hurricane Katrina Host Shelter Information

  • Host Shelter Available for Travelers
    • The Pensacola Civic Center will be available for those people who need a place to stay and an opportunity to take a break from driving and tropical storm force conditions. Please be advised that the I-10 bridge will close when winds reach 45 mph sustained.
    • Take Interstate 10 to Exit 12 (I-110 Southbound). Follow traffic and signs South to Pensacola Civic Center (201 E. Gregory). There will be signs and people to direct you to the Civic Center.
  • Alternate Evacuation Route
    • An alternate route to avoid the Interstate 10 bridge going Eastbound across the Escambia Bay, travelers may take exit 10A North to Highway 29. Follow the signs to North Interstate 65 in Alabama.
