Department of Veterans Affairs Hurricane Dennis Disaster Relief
TALLAHASSEE - The Florida Department of Veterans'
Affairs (FDVA) is responding to the needs of veterans and
other hurricane victims impacted by Hurricane Dennis.
"Our
priority is serving veterans affected by Hurricane Dennis
and assisting staff at the Disaster Recovery Centers as
necessary to meet the needs of the hurricane victims," said
Rocky McPherson, Executive Director of the Florida
Department of Veterans' Affairs.
"Veterans' Claims Examiners
from across the State of Florida are present at each
Disaster Recovery Center from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. to meet
the needs of veterans," said Barbara Harker, Director of
Benefits and Assistance. “Our people assist in filing claims
for VA compensation and pension benefits and answer any
questions regarding VA healthcare and state benefits.”
Disaster Recovery Centers are located at 33 Brent Lane in
Pensacola (VCE: Fred Laurente); 6001 A Industrial Blvd. in
Century (VCE: Bill Peeler); 5259 Booker Lane in Jay (VCE:
Bob Frank); ; 5841 Gulf Breeze Pkwy in Gulf Breeze (VCE:
Sally Ferlund); and 6491 Caroline St. (Hwy 90) in Milton
(VCE: John Ulm). The Milton DRC opens on Friday, July 15,
2005.
