Hurricane Dennis Tolls Update #4
Florida’s Turnpike Update on Toll Suspensions
FORT LAUDERDALE (7 p.m., EDT, July 10, 2005)—At the
direction of the Florida State Emergency Operations Center,
effective at 5 a.m. EDT, Monday, July 11, 2005, tolls will
be reinstated on the following roadways:
- Southbound on the Homestead Extension of Florida’s
Turnpike between the Miramar Toll Plaza (milepost 48) and
Florida City,
- Eastbound on Alligator Alley (Interstate 75) between
Naples and Ft. Lauderdale.
With this reinstatement, both Florida’s Turnpike and
Alligator Alley have returned to normal operations.
Tolls remain suspended on the Mid-Bay and Garcon Point
Bridges in Florida’s panhandle until further notice. While
tolls are suspended, SunPass customers may hear their
transponders “beep”; however, they should rest assured that
their accounts are not being charged.
