Navigation Through Locks to be Suspended Today

PALATKA, Fla., Sept. 2, 2004 - Due to the potential effects of Hurricane Frances, public access through the Burrell Lock, Moss Bluff Lock and the Apopka Lock and Dam will be temporarily suspended as of 5 p.m. today (Thursday).

The National Hurricane Center has forecasted that Hurricane Frances will move across much of the District�s 18-county area Saturday and Sunday. Navigation through the locks will be suspended through the Labor Day holiday and until further notice.
