Princess Place Covered Bridge Dedicated
The new wooden covered bridge at Flagler County's Princess Place
Preserve was officially opened in a dedication ceremony at the
site on October 1, 2012. The 45-foot long single-land bridge
with pedestrian walkways and antique style lamps crosses Styles
Creek on Princess Place Road, the entrance to the preserve.
Architecturally, the bridge is accented with natural coquina
stone abutments and pine shakes shingles in aesthetic
coordination with the other historic structures on the site. The
bridge replaces the former single-lane concrete bridge installed
by the previous owners of the property in the 1970's and
provides pedestrian walkways and increased fishing access to
Styles creek, a popular site for local anglers.
The ceremony was attended by members of the
general public, Flagler County Board of County Commission
members and staff as well as members of the city councils for
Palm Coast and Flagler Beach. Flagler County Board of County
Commission Chair Barbara Revels conducted the ceremony opening
the bridge.
