Internal Audits ensure an organization's efficiency.

The Internal Audit Section conducts financial, compliance, electronic data processing, and performance audits and management reviews of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's (DEP) programs and activities. Auditors identify problems with control deficiencies or noncompliance with laws, policies or procedures and recommend solutions.

In addition to conducting audits, staff also reviews performance measures to determine if data reporting is reliable, accurate and useful. Other projects include organizational assessments, customer satisfaction surveys, investigative support, research, management advisory services and reviews of annual audits received by DEP.
