    Bayou Grande, where Polk Avenue dead ends, Pensacola, FL
    Join Northwest Florida Aquatic Preserves and Escambia County for oyster reef building as the first step towards a living shoreline.
    Please RSVP to Zach Schang (850) 595-0599 or Zachary.Schang@dep.state.fl.us.
    What to bring/wear: Close-toed shoes, sunscreen and gloves (we have extra for those needing them).
    What you will be doing: You will be helping to build 39 nearshore oyster reefs along an eroding waterfront on Bayou Grande. Each reef consists of ~200 bags of oyster shell that weigh ~20 pounds each. You will get wet!
  • Choctawhatchee Estuary Family Festival
    Apr 23 (11 am - 4 pm)
    Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park
    Families can come visit the park and will be able to enjoy an afternoon of learning about environmental projects, habitat and more within the Choctawhatchee Bay area as well as do many arts and crafts and enjoy all the park has to offer.
