• Eagle Scout Projects

  Do your Eagle project with us. Recent projects include building a handicapped access walkway and ramp, building a 15' x 15' deck, and putting in a butterfly garden. We also coordinate Eagle projects with Seminole State Forest and Wekiwa Spring State Park.
   

• Community Service Projects

  We give community service credits for these projects and Eagle projects.

• Education and Outreach

  • Help staff a festival booth.
  • Give presentations to groups.
  • Be an interpretive guest speaker on an interactive hike.
  • Help out with interactive hikes.
  • Provide refreshments for participants in education/outreach/volunteer activities.

• River Clean-Up

  The aquatic preserve and its partners host clean-ups for various waterways. We remove litter from the shoreline and the water. Volunteers are always needed and make these events a success. If you own a canoe, kayak or small boat that can be used in the clean-up - great. Contact us for more detailed information or check our events calendar for dates, times and locations.

• Exotic Plant Removal

  Volunteers are periodically needed to assist with hand-removal of exotic plants such as hydrilla from the river.
   

• Building Repair / Maintenance / Small Building Projects

  Like to putter? Build things? We always have something that needs fixing, repairing or building.
   

• Office Organizational Tasks

  Love to organize? We have lots of jobs for you.
   

• Become a River Steward!

  You can help! The Wekiva Aquatic Preserve is looking for experienced boat drivers and crew members to assist with river patrols, clean-ups, promoting river stewardship and education. Boat drivers must obtain DEP Vessel Operator Certification; no experience necessary for crew. Volunteer training will be provided.
