Invasive Species Removal on the Little Wekiva

Elizabeth Stephens

Date and Time

Sat, Aug 17, 9 am - 12 pm

Join the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Wekiva River Aquatic Preserve, Keep Seminole Beautiful, and the SERV Program to remove invasive East Indian hygrophila, a rapidly expanding aquatic plant that threatens the waterway. Please note that we will be working in the water for most of the event. Volunteers must wear close-toe shoes, and guardian supervision is required for youth under 12. Gloves, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle are recommended. Contact Elizabeth Stephens (407-665-2457, serv@seminolecountyfl.gov) for more information and to sign-up!
