A national celebration at the country's 28 estuarine research reserves, this day recognizes the importance of this habitat where rivers meet the sea. Rookery Bay's event will include free staff-narrated boat tours (bus transportation provided to the boat 15 minutes away), free introductory 30-minute kayaking trips, free paddle boarding on Henderson Creek, a kids fishing clinic, marine critter touch tank, live animal presentations, kids games and crafts, behind-the-scenes tours of the science labs, films, food and more. Fisherman, artist and Tarpon Bay Tales host will greet guests and discuss his "Florida Fish and Game Art Fusion" exhibit on display at Rookery Bay through Nov. 9. The reduced admission fee for the day is just $3 for adults and free for children ages 12 and younger.
