Description

The year is 1513; a new kind of adventurer is landing on the Florida Coast. It was the first contact between the civilizations of the Old World and the New. These larger than life men were known as the "Conquerors" or Conquistadors. On Saturday, April 6, 2013, the legendary Conquistador Ponce de León will land his expedition at the GTM Research Reserve. The event will involve Ponce de León's boat landing, historical interactions, and black powder demonstrations. The landing will occur in the same time frame and vicinity where Ponce de León first landed in Florida in April, 1513.
