  • Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserve' Nature Boat Tour
    Wed, Jan 11 (10 am - 12 pm and 12:30 - 2:30 pm); Tue, Jan 12 (11 am - 1 pm and 1:30 - 3:30 pm)
    Participants will board our comfortable, 25-foot Windsorcraft boat for a two-hour long informative tour to view local wildlife that call the aquatic preserves their home, including dolphins, manatees, white pelicans and other colonial wading and diving birds. Participants can use the supplied binoculars to get an up-close and personal view. During the tour visitors will learn about the importance of the estuaries, various habitats, and history of the area. Cost is $30 per person for a 2 hour tour. A cooler with ice and water will be provided, and participants can bring their own drinks and snacks. Tours will depart from the Gasparilla Marina located at: 15001 Gasparilla Rd, Placida, FL 33946. A $5 parking fee, separate from registration, must paid at the Gasparilla Marina office (around the back of the marina complex) upon arrival. Please arrive early to park and pay, as boat departs at the time scheduled.
  • Manasota Beach Club 30th Annual Lecture Series

    Charlotte Harbor Aquatic Preserves manager Mindy Brown will be presenting on January 23rd at the 30th Annual Speaker Series on Lemon Bay ecology. This is in conjuction with an annual guest lecture series at the Manasota Beach Club. The January talks will be each Monday (9th, 16th, 23rd) at the Manasota Beach Club, 7660 Manasota Key Road, Englewood. The lunch and program package will be held from noon until 1:30 and there is a $22 charge for the meal. Reservations are required as space is limited.
