DEP's Coastal and Aquatic Managed Areas Celebrates the
Re-Opening of the Tampa Bay Aquatic Preserves Office (12/18/12) -
On Tuesday, the Florida Department of Environmental Protections' Office of
Coastal and Aquatic Managed Areas celebrated the re-opening of the Tampa Bay
Aquatic Preserves office, a field site of the office. A ribbon cutting was
held at the City of Dunedin Municipal Marina overlooking the preserve.

DEP to Celebrate Re-Opening of Tampa Bay Aquatic

officials will celebrate the re-opening of the Tampa Bay
Aquatic Preserves office with a ribbon-cutting and
ceremony in Dunedin, followed by a boat tour of one of
the more than 100 spoil islands within the aquatic
preserve.

reported for a special kind of duty - battling invasive
plants to keep Florida natural communities safe.

Completes Reef Fish Survey (11/13/12) - Divers
complete the first ever survey on more than 250 sites
across the northern third of the Florida Reef Track.
This completes a survey of the entire Florida Reef Track
by counting fish in their natural environment, instead
of after capture.

600 guests were in attendance as the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's
Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve hosted First Lady Ann Scott at its
annual open house celebration in honor of National Estuaries Day.

experienced a dramatic increase in attendance this
summer compared to last year.

DEP Celebrates Dedication of Wekiva Wild and Scenic
River Management Plan (5/17/12) - The Florida
Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), National
Park Service and local and state partners held a
ceremony today at the Lower Wekiva River Preserve State
Park to celebrate a management plan put in place to
protect the Wekiva River System.

Wekiva Wild and Scenic River Management Plan Unveiled on
Thursday (5/14/12) - Florida's Wekiva River system
is the second in the state to get national recognition.
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP)
will participate in the dedication ceremony for the
Wekiva Wild and Scenic River comprehensive management
plan during an event scheduled for Thursday in Sanford.

Students Get Hands-On Training at Guana Tolomato
Matanzas Reserve through DEP's LIFE Program (5/4/12)
- More than 110 Sebastian Middle School seventh graders
took their classroom education outdoors to investigate
the coastal environment through a field-based,
environmental science education program.

DEP, Collier County Open Isles of Capri Paddlecraft Park (3/30/12) - The Florida Department of
Environmental Protection (DEP), along with Collier County officials, today celebrated the opening
of the Isles of Capri Paddlecraft Park. This park represents a key partnership in opening the county's
first public access paddle craft launch while providing continued preservation and protection to
Florida's natural resources.

spotlight in an upcoming segment of "Only in America"
