The money will allow Rookery Bay Environmental Learning Center to build a
pedestrian bridge to provide visitor access to a boardwalk and educational trail.
Film on Aquatic Preserves wins Crystal Reel Award - (6/29/05) -
Living Waters: Aquatic Preserves of Florida received the prestigious
Crystal Award for "Best Cinematography 2005" from the Florida
Motion Picture and Television Association.
DEP Finalizes Plan to Protect Southeast Florida
Coral Reefs - (6/1/05) - The Florida Department of Environmental Protection
has released the final draft of an interagency report to protect reefs in Southeast
Florida from Martin to Miami-Dade County.
Living Waters
exhibit moves to Weedon Island Preserve - (1/28/05) -
The display will be at Weedon Island Preserve Cultural and Natural History
Center in St. Petersburg until April 30, 2005. Clyde Butcher will be on hand
for the grand opening on January 29, 2005 from 2-5.
Rookery Bay hosts birding festival - (1/22/05) -
Rookery Bay hosted the first annual Southwest Florida Birding Festival
allowing visitors to learn more about birding and bird life. Activities
included guided tours, presentations by birding experts, and crafts activities.
