Gulf of Mexico Alliance Clean & Resilient Marina Initiative
The Gulf of Mexico Alliance (GOMA), a five-state partnership t promote regional collaboration on the ecological and economic health of the Gulf of Mexico, has made supporting Clean Marinas and promoting their resilience to natural and man-made disasters a top priority. The Clean & Resilient Program builds on Clean Marina practices already in place and provides additional recommendations to strengthen local marinas’ ability to withstand natural and man-made disasters.

“Resiliency is the capacity of human and natural / physical systems to adapt and recover from change.”

GOMA’s Clean & Resilient Marina Guidebook provides marina owners and operators useful information, tools, and recommended practices on the categories below. The guidebook also includes a sample hurricane plan that marinas can tailor to their own facility.

1. Marina Design and Siting
2. Emergency Preparedness
3. Evacuation Procedures
4. Stormwater Management and Erosion controls
5. Climate Adaption and Sea Level Rise
6. Outreach and Education for Marina Operators and Boaters
