How can a marina become involved in the Clean Vessel Act Program?
Marinas can apply for grant funding to install
a pumpout or repair a current pumpout.

Who funds the Clean Vessel Act?
The funds for the CVA program come from boaters and anglers through excise taxes
paid on fishing tackle and motorboat fuels under the U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service Federal Aid in cooperation with the Sport Fish Restoration Program,
better known by the boating industry as the Wallop-Breaux fund.

Who is eligible to receive funds?
Funds are available to applicants whose facilities are located on navigable
fresh or salt-water bodies within the State of Florida who service recreational
vessels. Eligible participants can include public and private operators of
facilities such as boat ramps, marinas, and dock slips that provide public
access. Facilities constructed with CVA funds must be:
- Open to the public.
- Used for their intended purpose.
- Maintained throughout their useful life.

How much money is available for individual projects?
Based on funding from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, money for
Clean Vessel Act Projects ranges from $1,500 to $30,000 for
stationary pumpouts and up to $50,000 for pumpout vessels.

When is the next application period?
Grant applications are accepted on a year-round, continual basis.
