Applying for a Clean Vessel Act grant is easy with online
submission and a streamlined process. Applications are
accepted year round so there is no restriction on when you
can apply. Facilities approved for funding are reimbursed 75
percent of the total cost of pumpout projects, only having
to provide 25 percent of the total as match— a $3 to $1
return on your investment.
Grant Process
-
Meet Grant Requirements
-
Submit Application
- Sign Grant Agreement
After
reviewing your application, DEP issues a grant agreement
(contract) for your pumpout project. You sign the contract
and return it to DEP for final approval.
- Have a Site
Visit
A DEP staff member visits your facility to review the
proposed pumpout site. This is not a regulatory visit. It
simply allows DEP to ensure the pumpout location allows for
proper sewage disposal.
- Receive DEP Approval
Once your
site visit is completed and DEP signs the grant agreement
(contract), you will receive official notification that your
project is approved, and you may proceed. Expenses incurred
or work performed prior to receiving DEP approval will not
be reimbursed.
