Water Data
Drinking Water
Section
responsible for permitting, compliance and
monitoring of public drinking water supplies from
the well to the user. Drinking Water is also called
Potable Water.
Watershed
Management and Monitoring
responsible for sampling, producing reports of the
data for the stations where monitoring is conducted.
Wastewater
DEP's Plant Operations Excellence Awards Program
recognizes water facilities that demonstrate
excellence in operation, maintenance, and compliance; innovative
treatment; waste reduction and pollution prevention; recycling; and
other special achievements.
Domestic Wastewater Permitting Section
responsible for permitting of domestic wastewater
facilities, sewage, sludge and reuse systems.
Groundwater and Underground Injection Control
Section
responsible for injection wells for domestic and
industrial wastewater facilities, drainage wells and
ground water technical review for permitting and
compliance of domestic and industrial wastewater
facilities.
Industrial Wastewater Permitting Section
responsible for permitting of vehicle wash
facilities, power plants, citrus processing
facilities and dairy and chicken farms. Any waste
combined with water that is not sewage (domestic
waste) is industrial waste.
Wastewater Compliance
Assurance Section
responsible for compliance assurance of
domestic and industrial wastewater facilities.
This section also assures that laboratories are in
compliance.

January 20, 2005, a preliminary report on A Strategy for
Water Quality Protection: Wastewater Treatment in the Wekiva Study Area
was submitted to former Governor Bush as required in Section 369.318(1), F.S.
