To be Industrial Wastewater....
- Must be waste
- Must be liquid
- Must not be Domestic Wastewater (water from sinks, drains,
showers and toilets)
- Can not be Hazardous Waste
- Can not be uncontaminated rainwater (that's Stormwater)
Some examples of Industrial Wastewater Facilities regulated
by the Department of Environmental Protection
- Car Washes
- Citrus Processing
- Concrete Batch Plants
- Dairy Industries
- Dewatering from both Petroleum and non-petroleum
contaminated sites (Chapter 62.621.300 (1) and (2), Florida
Administrative Code)
- Discharges of demineralization concentrate from Water Treatment Facilities
- Groundwater Remediation Sites
- Mushroom Farms
- Power Plants- some wastewater activities at Power Plants
Is this Industrial Wastewater?
Vehicle Washing Operations
Florida Statute Section 403.087 requires that any stationary source
of potential pollution requires a current valid permit on an Exemption
for construction, operation, maintenance, etc of such a source. Vehicle
Wash Water is considered industrial wastewater and a stationary source
of potential pollution.
Some vehicle washing operations require industrial wastewater
permits, others do not. Guide to information needed to determine
