2009 Presentations

The FDEP, Central District's 13th Annual Power Generation Conference was held at the Walt Disney World's Coronado Springs Resort & Conference Center in Lake Buena Vista. The Reedy Creek Improvement District, Gulf Power/Southern Power Florida, LLC and Golder Associates, Inc., co-sponsored this year's conference, with support from the Florida Air & Waste Management Association. The one-day conference featuring the power generation industry, government and other stakeholders, focused on alternative energy sources, climate change, solar energy, nuclear energy, mercury emissions from electric utilities, plasma arc electric generation as well as regulatory updates from DEP and the EPA.

The FDEP, Central District's 12th Annual Power Generation Conference was held at the Orange County Convention Center, 9800 International Drive, Orlando, Florida on July 31, 2008.  This one-day conference was co-sponsored by Progress Energy and Florida Power & Light, with support from the Air & Waste Management Association.  The theme of this year's conference was: The Power Industry and CO₂PERATION II on Global Climate Change.  The topics focused on alternate energy uses, carbon capture, and carbon sequestration.
