Permitting of Class I Landfills
The Division of Air Resource Management in Tallahassee has assumed all air permitting for Class I Landfills. Guidance document DARM-PER-16 (Revised) explains the need and reasons for making this change. The main purpose of this change is to provide consistency in the permitting of Class I Landfills statewide. This follows the step of doing all Alternate Sampling Procedures (ASP) for landfills in Tallahassee to improve the processing time and to provide consistency.
All permit applications for Class I landfills should be submitted to the Division's Office of Permitting and Compliance at 2600 Blair Stone Road, Mail Station #5505, Tallahassee, Florida 32399-2400.
The appropriate District and local program offices will still be responsible for the compliance activities of these landfills.
