
Safety Committees
Each Division/District should establish a Safety Committee to be responsible for the following:

Review and comment on the Health and Safety Program
and provide the comments to the SAB

Implement the Health and
Safety Program

Establish and communicate
procedures for conducting internal safety inspections of the
workplace; these procedures shall be used to evaluate the
effectiveness of engineering, administrative, and personal protective
control measures provided to protect employees from recognized hazards
in the workplace and work environment.

Establish and communicate
procedures to review all workplace accidents, safety-related
incidents, injuries, illnesses, diseases and fatalities

Evaluate the effectiveness
of and recommend improvements to the Department's safety rules,
policies and procedures for the accident and illness prevention
programs in the workplace

Communicate guidelines for
the safety training of all employees on a continuing basis
-
Invite and encourage all
employees to attend Division and District safety meetings
-
Accept and address anonymous
complaints and suggestions from employees
