The Florida Green Lodging Program is a voluntary initiative of the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) that designates and recognizes lodging facilities that make a commitment to conserve and protect Florida’s natural resources. The program’s environmental guidelines allow the hospitality industry to evaluate its operations, set goals and take specific actions to continuously improve environmental performance. The Department of Environmental Protection’s Office of Sustainable Initiatives and the Florida Green Lodging Program is pleased to announce the release of a new and improved Green Lodging designation application and the establishment of the new 4-Tier Palm Rating System. These program changes will allow for better recognition of those lodging facilities that have demonstrated their commitment to protecting Florida’s natural environment.
