In November, Emily Jane Murray, Public Information Specialist at the GTM Research Reserve, will give
a presentation entitled "Native American Ceramic Traditions of the Guana Peninsula." Drawing from
archaeological research in Northeast Florida, she will discuss the uses and implications of ceramic

In December, Kenneth Rainer, Education Coordinator at the GTM Research Reserve, will discuss the cost
associated with the services provided to humans by the environment. Did you know that in 2008 the US
Fish and Wildlife Service valued Florida's fishing, hunting and wildlife watching expenditures at
$7.8 billion dollars? If someone could offer you money for the enjoyment you get from spending time
at the ocean, the estuary or in the forest, how much would it take?
